Samal Island escape

17th Province of the Philippines I’ve visited

Davao del Norte in Samal Island

March 2012

After the adrenalin rush from river water rafting and the slow side trips here and there in Davao del Sur, I escaped the city crowd and went to Samal and explored the island in 2 days before I go back to Manila.

My first to see millions of Geoffroy’s Rousette fruit bats in Monfort Bat Colony, the largest colony of its kind declared by Guinness world records in 2010.

Explored the island further while hitting the rough roads on a single motorbike. Had lunch in Hagimit Falls resort.

From here, stayed overnight in a less crowded beach in Canibad, watched some daredevils cliff jump and regretted for not trying it.hahahahha. I will next time =D

So I just settled in marveling the beach, the blue skies and the green trees surrounding the place.
